January 20, 2026
PlayStation released their wrap up on December 2025. I’m very late on posting this and unfortunately you can no longer view the wrap up. So the best I got are these old screenshots. Regardless it was a pretty good year, here are some things I found interesting on my primary platform.

I played for 605 hours. I am going to be honest I thought this was going to be a lot more. In 2025, I focused on spending my free time on video games. Very little time on TV shows, books and movies. I did play more on other platforms like PC and Switch. It also doesn’t count PS3 and Vita which I played a bit as well.
My top 5 most played games isn’t too surprising (except for the first one). I focused on playing shorter games and did not force myself to Platinum games that I didn’t feel like. Since this wrap up happens in early December, it does not include my time spent on Death Stranding 2 which would have been #1 with 46 hours logged.
Borderlands 3
I did not really expect this to be #1 with 44 hours. Since it’s not my number 1 game of the year. However, I did Platinum this game and completed most of the DLC. So, I guess all those hours were added up. I found the gameplay and presentation to be fantastic but the story was not so much. Because of that, Borderlands 3 was great to play on the Portal while listening to a podcast.
Black Myth Wukong
Maybe the game I was surprised to enjoy the most. I am a bit burned out on souls-likes at the moment, so I did not expect to like this game. What really did it for me was the setting. Even though I was unfamiliar with Chinese mythology it was still fun to explore a brand-new world. I did not Platinum this game, but I completed just about everything on the new game. At some point soon, I would like to complete the new game plus trophies and Platinum this game.
Ghost of Yotei
Probably my most anticipated AAA game of 2025. It hit all the right spots that it needed, too. Incredible art direction, performances, music, organic exploration, side quest variety and simple but flashy gameplay. The story is good but I’m not sure if it surpasses its predecessor. Yeah, at its core it’s another Ubisoft open world game but it’s one of the best. Platinuming this game comes naturally if you’re going for 100%.
Unicorn Overlord
One of my top 5 games I played in 2025. The tactical rpg elements of mix and matching different characters and abilities into deadly battle squads was great. Art style was a highlight, but the story was incredibly generic and boring. I did Platinum this game, although I don’t really remember the Platinum experience.
Final Fantasy Tactics - The Ivalice Chronicles
My second most anticipated game of 2025. I never played the original, but I did play Tactics Advance on the GBA as a kid. I always heard great things about this game, and it rings true. The story and accompanying voice acting is immaculate. Gameplay is addictive, especially when you dive deep into its mechanics, such as leveling and learning new abilities. The Platinum is a bit of a grind, but it didn’t bother me too much.

Some other additional information is provided. My favorite Controller of 2025 is the 30th Anniversary Limited Edition. This is basically my default controller, and I love all the little details. The colored PlayStation logo is my favorite. I also picked up the Death Stranding 2 controller this year. While I don’t really like the color orange, the Acronym elements on a controller is the coolest thing ever. Maybe I will pick up another controller in 2026, something lighter or colorful.
Finally, heres a quick glance on my trophy wrap up from TrueTrophies.com.
This year I earned 1544 trophies, 24 Platinums and 46 games played (including PS3 and Vita). My favorite Platinum to earn this year was from Ghost of Yotei. A lot of the Platinum progress came through regular gameplay. Thanks to its larger variety in missions/tasks, nothing ever felt old or repetitive.
I see no reason to slow down in 2026 and expect to hit similar numbers this year. I am interested in playing even more indies on PS5, clearing up the never-ending backlog and earning more trophies.
